“Bait-A-Boss” Character Designs
These designs are for what will hopefully be my first iOS game, “Bait-A-Boss”.  These characters are the office workers who will try to get revenge on their evil boss.  I’m considering giving them names, but it’s not really a priority as they won’t exist as characters so much as objects (kind of like the birds in “Angry Birds”).  My Dad instantly compared them to people that he’d worked with in the past when he saw them, though, so I guess that’s a good sign for the characters’ relatability.  (I’ll hopefully be able to colour them tonight.)
“Robo-rella”
The first concept sketch of a character in a game idea I’m hoping to develop in college.  The idea is one of three that will be put forward, so there’s no guarantee that it’ll be this one, but if it does get through then maybe if I’m lucky it’ll get to be an iPad game one day!
PS: To anyone who sees this and is slightly put-out by her overly sexualised look, that’s the idea behind her look.  The game is meant to be a parody of animated fairy tales, including the tendency for girls in these stories to have tiny waists and massive hips and boobs. (I draw the line at having her waist be as tiny as Megara’s from “Hercules”, though.  She’s made of metal, and with a waist that tiny her upper body would probably just spend all of its time falling over.)
A building concept done for my concept art assignment.  The idea behind this was of a man-made structure built up from a building-like natural base, and its man-made elements were inspired by the bombed-out church in Liverpool.
A creature design based on a deer and a horse, with some giraffe influences thrown in.  He’s basically a very old and ancient creature nearing the end of his life, and the many sights he’s seen over the years and loved ones he’s lost have left him with an intrinsically melancholy outlook on the world in general, and on his own life and innermost thoughts.
Concept art for game that I’m currently developing as part of a college assignment.  This concept art is for the main character’s home.
Dragons drawn using pastels.  The basic idea - or at least the theme - for this was loosely inspired by the song “Sleepyhead” by Passion Pit (the piano version), and an X-Men fanfic that I read (don’t ask).
An alien mermaid drawn using pastels.  I didn’t have any particular concept for this, and just played around with the pastels to see what I ended up with.  I’m quite happy that it turned out to be this.
Another dragon, this time drawn using watercolour pencils and fineliner.  Its wings and colour scheme were influenced by elephant hawk moths, while its head was based on that of a white-backed vulture, and its legs were inspired by iguana legs.  I was aiming for a generally bird-like look for this dragon, and hopefully I at least somewhat succeeded.
A dragon painted in gouache.  This was my first attempt at using gouache, and so it was more of an experiment than anything.  I need to improve on my technique with this medium, but overall I’m quite happy with it for a first try.
An elephant hawk moth, done in watercolour pencil (and water).
